so, since i was seven or eight, it has been a dream of mine to have a bakery or cafe of sorts. I loved to make menus and cook at that age, even if it was just peanut butter and jelly or tomato soup with grilled cheese.
flash forward about thirteen years to me trying to figure out post-graduation plans and coming to the realization that all i really want to do is bake. and feed other people, in addition to feeding myself, of course.
now, realize that i didn't tell allen about this. becuase i haven't yet. however, i have baked him banana and zucchini bread and given him muffins and other baked nummies, as well as having him over for dinner the night mom made pizza with homemade crust and sauce.
last night on the phone, not only did he suggest that i have a bakery once i'm done with school, he came up with the business plan for it. Which we both worked on modifying today. he did this by coming up with assembly line ideas, and i did so by baking and attempting to create a new muffin.
yes, i modified a muffin recipe today but i haven't tried it yet. i think i may have to buy a box of liquid chai to see if it would work as we are out of allspice and i want to see something...
but i did bake today. ginger-raisin-bran muffins which are DIVINE. they need more ginger and i may pump that flavor up a bit the next time i make them, but they are incredibly yummy and it is taking a great deal of restraint to not eat the entire batch overnight...
next step: pumpkin muffins. and then, the world
