Can you believe that there’s only one more day left until Thanksgiving? I can’t! I am so excited for the holiday, and I’ve been keeping busy so the days this week have just flown by.
This morning I woke up wrapped up in our new fleecy blanket ready for breakfast – I was hungry. Last night I mixed up some overnight oats, and today I stirred in a very ripe banana, a container of plain Oikos (still on sale at my grocery store – so psyched!) , some maple syrup, and a blob of almond butter.
It was tasty. I love how much protein is packed into such a simple breakfast. If you had told me a couple of months ago that overnight oats would become one of my favorite breakfasts, I wouldn’t believe you. Now it’s almost all that I want to eat!
Today was busy and really fun. The Boy asked me if I wanted to go out for dinner to a new restaurant near us, called Butterbee’s, and I gladly accepted. When we got there, I wasn’t sure what I wanted, and the restaurant had a variety of dishes to choose from, everything from salmon to steak and buffalo wings. I ended up going for something simple, ordering a cup of their chili and a side salad, and snagging a piece of The Boy’s garlic toast to complete my meal. I didn’t have my camera with me, but it was delicious.
We stopped at Target on our way back from dinner, picking up some cat food, and I got some new ear buds for my iPod – mine haven’t been wanting to stay in lately, so I thought I would try out some new ones. We then came home to play Rock Band for a little while. When we were visiting our old roommate over the weekend, we played some Guitar Hero, and I tried playing some songs in hard and discovered that it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Because of that, I decided that tonight I would play Rock Band in hard. I had a blast, even when I made mistakes, and ended up playing a song in expert. Yes, that’s right, in expert. I am so thrilled and proud of myself, though I am not sure if I would be able to play another song at that level of difficulty yet.
Now we’re getting ready to head to bed, being goofballs and having fun. It’s been an awesome evening.
Are you getting excited for the holiday?
