We are nerds.
We’re unwinding tonight with a game of Magic. We have basketball on in the background, and Enzo is playing under the table. It’s been a good day.
I spent my afternoon hanging out with Emily. We went for a long walk to enjoy the sunshine and gorgeous weather - it’s been chilly recently and is supposed to rain this weekend, so it was nice to get some sun. We spent almost five hours visiting and talking, and just enjoying the company. We talked about everything from our guys to names, cooking and history, and everything in between. I love how time just seems to fly when you’re in good company, and before we knew it, it was after four! We hadn’t realized how late it had become – we were having such fun.
When The Boy let me know he was on his way home for the day, I headed home as well, eager to hear about his day. He arrived home a few minutes after I did – we were both battling rush hour traffic, and we made our way outside to play catch for a little while before dinner. We haven’t tossed a baseball around in several days, and had fun lobbing it back and forth while talking about our day and other random things. We were hungry when we came in, and after we had cooled down a bit, I got started on dinner.
We wanted different foods tonight, so while The Boy enjoyed some all-beef hot dogs, I dove into a refried bean and cheese quesadilla. I loaded it up with salsa and enjoyed every gooey messy bite – it really hit the spot! I had been so active today between walking and playing catch, that I was HUNGRY when we sat down to eat. I was happy that tonight’s meal was one that was quick to fix, and full of so much flavor, too.
Now, we’re being nerdy, what with the Magic and all. Bedtime is soon and I am beat. I’m about to go settle under the covers with a good book and the cats. Have a good night!
