Hey hey!
I didn't mean to disappear the past couple of days with not so much as a word (or two). We left for our vacation and have spent the past day and a half exploring Boston. I'm pretty sure that since we arrived on Thursday that we have walked about fifteen miles - maybe more. We're having a blast and have seen so much of the city - it's gorgeous!
Yesterday, in addition to visiting the art museum, we spent a good part of the day at Fenway Park. We toured the ballpark, which was incredible. I loved seeing the old ballpark seats, and sitting on top of the Green Monster. We were both EXCITED to be there for the tour, and even more excited to return for the game later in the evening. The ballpark was buzzing with energy, and it felt like we were part of a big group of friends as we enjoyed the game. It was late when we made it back to our room and we were both asleep not long after our heads hit our pillows.
This morning, we slept in. It was as much unintentional as it was intentional - we were just worn out from the walking we did Thursday and Friday and I think our bodies were hungry for sleep. I definitely woke up feeling well-rested, HUNGRY,and ready to get the day started. On the agenda: exploring the aquarium and the harbor.
After grabbing a quick breakfast at Au Bon Pain, we hopped a train to the aquarium. Once there, we bought our tickets and made our way into the big building, where we eagerly sought out the much-anticipated penguins!
We spent a great deal of time admiring the penguins before making our way up the aquarium, seeing trout and salmon, starfish and sea horses. At the top of the giant tank of fish, we happily sought out the sea turtle before spiraling our way back down along the giant tank to see the jellyfish on the bottom floor. It was incredible. There was so much to see in the aquarium and it was all so gorgeous. I loved photographing the jellies - they're such ethereal and delicate creatures.
We wrapped up our afternoon walking along the harbor for a couple of hours, watching the sailboats make their way through the waters among the seagulls, and enjoying the light breeze blowing in off of the ocean. It was peaceful, and reminded me of when I was younger - when we would travel to Baltimore and the harbor there.
Now, I think we are headed off to bed, but I'll see y'all soon!
Night!
