Fall snuck up on us this weekend! We went from over ninety degrees on Friday to the mid-seventies on Saturday and it was gorgeous. The Boy and I had plans to visit King’s Island on Saturday and the temperatures made for a perfect all-day outing. We went on a handful of roller coasters, played a few games, and enjoyed our time out together. I don’t have any pictures of the day because we chose to leave our cameras at home, but it was amazing. I loved getting to spend time with The Boy and we both especially enjoyed how relaxed our day went. We never felt rushed and went on just enough rides to enjoy our afternoon.
Sunday was even cooler than Saturday! Our original plans were to visit the museum for the afternoon, but we changed our plans when we learned that there was a Magic pre-release tournament being held nearby. It was a cloudy, chilly day and I was intrigued to give it a try – I'd never played in a pre-release before, but The Boy had, and it sounded pretty fun. We ended up playing through a few rounds, learning a lot about the upcoming set of cards. It was a great time and I might do it again in the future, but would definitely read up on what was going to be in the new set first- there were a lot of surprises. We spent the rest of our evening at home, watching TV and playing with the cats before heading to bed.
We woke up this morning to gray skies and rain on the forecast. It was supposed to get up to around sixty-five degrees today, but I don’t think that it ever got above fifty-eight or so. It was COLD. I honestly can not believe that just a few short days ago we were in the nineties. Today was definitely a good day for curling up under a throw blanket with a book, and I was excited to dive into a cup of marshmallowy hot cocoa after dinner this evening. I’m sure that soon there will be colorful leaves and frost on the ground. I don’t know if I’m ready for colder temperatures just yet, but I will be.
It’s amazing how fall sneaks up on you, isn’t it?
