My goodness it has been a while! The past week or so have been incredibly busy! We were preparing for the holidays and to visit our families and time just got away from me. I cannot believe that tomorrow is the first of December - where has this year gone?! I swear that just yesterday we were celebrating New Year’s Eve with our friends, and now we’re just one month away from 2011 – wow!
How was your holiday weekend? I spent mine visiting my family and enjoying time with my parents, brothers, and sister. I didn’t take a lot of pictures as I was really enjoying my visit, but I had a lot of fun.
I was able to enjoy coffee with my parents, sister, and her boyfriend multiple times over the weekend, and I loved having the opportunity to take my younger brother ice skating. It was awesome to just enjoy some time with my family, giggle over various episodes of Doctor Who and Gilmore Girls, and just visit – I had a blast!
Since getting back from our weekend, we’ve been working on getting back into the swing of things. We actually decided against grocery shopping last week because of the holiday, choosing instead to clear out our fridge and work from what we already had. Before going to the grocery store to restock last night, I got a little creative with some leftover pasta sauce with meat and a few assorted boxes of pasta we had sitting in our pantry.
I mixed together penne and elbow macaroni along with the pasta sauce and served it up alongside some garlic bread. I reheated the leftovers with some salad to have as my lunch today and it was delicious! I love hearty pasta dishes once it gets to be a bit colder outside – they’re quick, easy, and delicious, and this definitely hit the spot on this cold and rainy day.
Now, I’m waiting on some cinnamon swirl bread to come out of the oven, and then I think we’ll be headed to bed. Hope y’all had a great night!
