It has been really warm lately, and I’ve been craving COLD breakfasts. Since I eat after I workout, I go for protein-packed bowls of goodness. My favorites?
Fitnessista’s Breakfast Cookie Dough cereal, that is topped with a generous handful of raspberries. It’s refreshing and full of yummy protein. I love how doughy it is and how my milk tastes like vanilla from my protein powder when I get to the bottom of the bowl. YUM.
I’ve also been obsessed with
Yogurt bowls. I use either plain regular or Greek yogurt, and top it with rolled oats, slivered almonds, bananas, and sometimes honey. The yogurt bowls are full of different textures and flavors and keep me satisfied for hours. I love mixing everything together before digging in. It looks like concrete, but it tastes INCREDIBLE.
I love these breakfasts because they are quick, simple to prepare, include protein, fat, fiber, and a serving of fruit. As someone who sometimes struggles to get in five or more servings of produce daily, having fruit as part of my breakfast is a must. The combination of fat and protein is one that I have found keeps me satisfied the longest, especially when that post-workout hunger hits.
Best of all? These breakfasts, while simple, are incredibly yummy.
