We wrapped up our holiday weekend the only way we know how: with a baseball game and fireworks. The ball game was Reds v. Indians on Sunday, and I was thrilled that we got to see a win! We had a blast at the game and afterwards, walked around downtown before settling down in Fountain Square to watch a free movie!
The free movie was “Iron Man 2,” one we’ve seen before, but it was still awesome to sit out in the open air and watch a movie in the middle of downtown!
Not long after the movie ended, it was time for the fireworks!
The fireworks were pretty awesome, albeit short – I think the whole show lasted maybe fifteen minutes? BUT it was still awesome. There is just something about seeing a fireworks show on Independence Day that makes it extra special. It was exceptionally cool to see all the fireworks shows taking place around downtown as we walked along the river back to our car to head home.
Of course, all the activity from Sunday left us feeling like this
And on Monday we ended up sleeping in – well past eleven! We used Monday to rest and catch up on housework to get ready for the work week ahead.
All in all, it was a great holiday weekend! I felt refreshed and relaxed at the end of the holiday, and loved getting to go out, explore downtown, and see a great fireworks show with The Boy.
How was your holiday weekend?
