I woke up this morning to a chill in the air and rain falling from the sky. I am running a 5k in less than 3 weeks and needed to go running – I hadn’t been in more than a week! Instead of running outside, I decided instead to hop on the treadmill for a two-mile run – in my living room!
Of course, the cold weather meant that we had the heat on, which meant the living room was a little on the warm side, so after checking the temperature outside, I made the decision to turn the heat off for the twenty minutes I’d be on the treadmill, and crack open the sliding glass door – making the cats very happy!
My two miles flew by, while I listened to a mix I’d put together on my iPod specifically for running. While it wasn’t as fun of a run as it would be outside, I still enjoyed myself and finished feeling strong. Because of the open door and the cooler air, I didn’t overheat, but I know that in a few weeks I’ll need to keep the door closed while I run. Tonight it is going to get down close to thirty degrees, and I am sure it is only going to get colder.
Good thing I have a collection of running tanks, right?
