This afternoon, our cat, Dorian, started showing symptoms of a UTI. These can be very serious in male cats, so we wasted no time getting him to the emergency vet. At the emergency vet, we were informed that he had a urinary blockage and would need to be catheterized.
Now, this is not the first time we have had this experience with Dorian, so as much as we are freaking out, we are calm. We know that he is in good hands with the staff at the emergency hospital. I say this because, due to the blockage and subsequent catheterization, he is having to stay at the emergency vet until at the soonest, Monday.
Maggie and Enzo are both confused. The Boy and I are worried, but the vet called and told us that Dorian is doing well. The staff at the emergency vet’s office encourages visitors, frequent check-ins, and we are definitely making some frequent phone calls, and making a few visits with Dorian up until the day we get to bring him back home.
I’m glad we caught it early, and I am glad he is getting excellent care. I still wish he was home.
