This week has been intense. Quick-moving. Intense. It’s also been incredible.
This week, The Boy and I celebrated one month of marriage – which to be perfectly honest, flew by. This time last month WE WERE MARRIED, which is crazy when I think about it. It seems like we spent so much time this past year planning the wedding that now that it is over we are still figuring out what to do with all of that free time.
Of course, that’s not the only thing that has made this week on the more intense side. The one thing that truly comes to mind is Wednesday, when I caught myself sitting in front of SCOTUS Blog at 10:01, mere minutes before a Supreme Court decision was handed down. At 10:06 I read that DOMA was ruled unconstitutional, and in that moment, tears of joy ran down my face.
Yesterday I spent a lot of time being happy. Discussing what the court decisions on DOMA and Prop 8 in California meant for now and in the future with close friends and with my husband. I read some really good articles and threads about the decisions – most notably from A Practical Wedding and this amusing-but-true article on Rachel’s blog.
I know that the fight doesn’t stop here, and I know that not everyone agrees with my feelings on this and other matters. I don’t normally post about politics and my political leanings and opinions here, and tomorrow we will be back to regularly-scheduled programming. For today, though, I wanted to share my happiness, some articles and websites, and simply be grateful.
