Hi There, my name is Deva and this is my blog - Deva by Definition. Why that name? Because my blog is all about the things that define me and my life, as well as continuing to redefine my life as I grow, change, and have new experiences. It's also about exploration – of the things I do, foods I eat, as well as countless other things!
I live in the greater Cincinnati area in a house I just bought with The Boy. We have three cats and are die-hard Reds fans. I identify as a quirky hipster, and love all sorts of musical styles, but my clothing style is definitely hipster-vintage. Occasionally I jam out to some Pitbull, but my favorite artists are currently Mumford and Sons.
We are huge Cincinnati Reds Fans, and since moving to Cincinnati over four years ago, we have been to at least seventy Reds games, if not more, and I love it. I'm learning more and more about baseball as the years go by, and am often asking questions about statistics and viability of certain players. All of this from a woman who just a few years ago didn't enjoy baseball at all - and now I can't get enough of it. I could even tell you how many days it is until Opening Day.
During the day, I am working full-time at a job that I love (but don't discuss for privacy purposes). Evenings and weekends, however, are all about having fun, and keeping all the things clean (one of my favorite websites). I'm currently training to run my first half-marathon in May, all while balancing time with The Boy, keeping the cats entertained, lifting weights, and keeping my blog up-to-date.
I love to cook and to bake and have worked hard to overcome an unhealthy relationship with food and my body that plagued me throughout high school and college. Since working to overcome that relationship, I have settled at a healthy weight for my body, and have a healthy relationship with food and exercise. I don't overexercise, and I don't deprive myself of my favorite foods.
